PROVIDE QUALITY EDUCATION

Understanding the supremacy of education for a brighter and more prosperous future, the United Nations holds a consensus that quality education and not just education should be a reality for all. In its Sustainable Development Goals, the UN identified quality education as the main goal to ensure the "transformation of the world" by 2030. By quality education, the UN envisages fair and standard education for all, which will support lifelong learning and the need to acquire knowledge. The foundation of quality education is inclusiveness and equity, not higher literacy rates. It is a revolutionary approach to understanding education and making it a vehicle for changing the world.

Education must fully assume its central role in helping people to forge more just, peaceful and tolerant societies.

WHY IT IS IMPORTANT

We are all aware of how technology is changing the face of education. Not only the way of receiving education has changed, but also the methods of teaching students have evolved. Education used to be more of a monologue, but today teachers encourage students to maintain a two-way flow of information in classrooms. The United Nations has identified a number of problems at the global level that, if not addressed, can lead to serious problems. To solve these problems, the need for leaders and experienced professionals who are proficient in their fields has increased. To encourage leadership and influence among students, it became necessary to use a refined method of teaching. In the age of technology, information can be accessed from anywhere in the world. Although imparting quality education requires a lot of effort in shaping the student's personality, with the advent of new technologies, the student is just a click away from the necessary resources. While sitting hundreds of miles away from an educational institute, students can take online courses from the institution, take advantage of online career guidance and access a wealth of resources from free online libraries.

COVID Response to quality education

In 2020, the world was hit by Covid-19 and education was one of the most important factors that were adversely affected. Most countries have announced temporary school closures, affecting more than 91% of the world's students.

According to the UN, as of April 2020, approximately 1.6 billion students were out of school and nearly 369 million children depend on school meals. To ensure that education does not stop at this time, UNESCO has created the following goals:

Help countries mobilize resources and implement new and context-appropriate solutions to offer distance education using hi-tech, low-tech and non-tech methods

Seek fair solutions and universal access

Make sure there are coordinated responses that avoid overlapping efforts

Make it easier for students to return to school when they reopen to prevent dropout rates from increasing

How this Goal can be Achieved?

The increasing number of crimes, wars, disease outbreaks, drastic economic downfalls, climate change, and many other factors have led to unexpected changes in societies around the globe. Due to this, the educationists and developmental organizations around the world emphasize the need for quality education and are stressing the need and uniting people towards achieving the goal. From educating a smaller group of people within their community to spreading awareness about the rising global issues, the educated people can work in an array of ways to achieve the goals. Besides formulating new methods, traditional methods like employing drama and art in education can also yield optimum results and help in enriching the educational process.

The Targets of Quality Education

Everyone can participate in their ways to provide quality education around the world. Here are some of the targets that the UN has set for 2030 in this section:

  • By 2030, ensure that there is free primary and secondary education for girls and boys for effective learning outcomes
  • By 2030, ensure that both girls and boys have access to quality early development development and pre-primary education
  • Ensure equal access to affordable and quality technical, vocational and tertiary education
  • Increase the number of people, both youth and adults who have relevant skills for employment, jobs and entrepreneurship
  • Eliminate all discrimiation in education
  • Ensure universal literacy and numeracy
  • Ensure education for sustainable development and global citizenship
  • Ensure building and upgrading inclusive and safe schools
  • Expand higher education scholarships for developing countries
  • Increase the supply of qualified teachers in developing countries

Dimensions of a Quality Education

Here are some of the important dimensions of quality education that every organization should meet:

  • Equity
  • Sustainability
  • Contextualisation and Relevance
  • Balanced Approach
  • Child-friendly Teaching and Learning
  • Learning Outcomes

Brands pressurizing citizens to pay for carry bags

February 6, 2020
Brand advertising is a trend in modern day society , lakhs of investments are made in advertisements using different means , but there is such a bad side of companies by which they are doing advertisements but not by paying rather by taking money from the customers i.e. by charging for the carry bags, this is a matter of concern as the carry bags have printed logos on them and indirectly brand use customer for their own benefit. The customers unaware of brand strategy are helping them in advertising by buying the carry bags along with the products. Not only the brands are advertising but also they are charging for the packaging and there is no such law that states that customer is to charged for packaging.
Similar case recently was in highlights when a renowned pizza brand was penalised ,when a lawyer filed case against the company for paying ₹13.33 for the carry bag. The matter when reached the consumer commission the company was penalised with ₹10 lakh. As the law says consumers cannot be asked to pay for carry bags. The lawyer in his application to the forum had quoted sub section (5) of section 36 of the Sale of Goods Act 1930 which makes states that unless otherwise agreed the expenses of and incidental to putting the goods into deliverable state shall be borne by the seller. Thus under this provision of law , all expenses with regard to packaging etc shall be borne by vendor in order to put goods into a deliverable state.
There are several cases in which brands are penalised by the consumer forum for charging for the packaging along with the term that they are advertising for their brands. Several brands to avoid controversies now have stopped charging for the carry bags but still this trend is prevailing around us. But as a citizen of our country we can approach consumer forum for our rights by giving appeals to proof our point. We also thinking it cool to carry shopping bags pay for them but in my opinion we should not encourage such brands to use us for their own benefits.

Psychology says that employees are bound to think of the negatives when the holidays approach. Especially during New Year’s the employees think of the things they did not accomplish and didn’t tick on their checklist. You can maybe celebrate the achievements that company booned and give the credits to the employees. This will give their positivity a leverage over their negativity.

Make sure everyone is on the same page.
This is not the time where the employees need to feel a sense of superiority and someone suppressing them. During this time the team should be more of a family and should be working in unison without a daunting sense of authority. The employees will tend to work more freely if they are not bound under shackles of authority for a while.

Decorate your office in the mood of the season
This is one of most cliché yet effective solution of all time. The sense of being in a celebrated environment will lighten the mood of the employees and they will work effectively.

Avoid having the annual awards ceremony in this season.
As discussed employees at this time of the year are alreadysulking about their drawbacks and lack of achievemnets and seeing their colleagues being awarded would create a sense of enmity amongst them and will also mae them more troubled.

 Let them leave early.
Let them take the levy finishing early and leaving early. At this time of the yaer most of them want to spend time with their families and it a but natural feeling which cannot be resisted. Under such a crucial time you should let your employees leave early and spend some tme with their loved ones.
